Manuel Ocaranza is a founding partner at Oaken Solutions, a Financial Consulting Firm specializing in Financial Planning and Analysis of small & mid cap companies in the United States of America. 

Prior to this roll, Mr. Ocaranza served as a Vice President of Finance at TCA Fund Management Group, an Asset Management with close to 500 mm in AUM invested mainly in small cap companies across multiple industries in the US, through senior secured lending and equity. In his roll of Vice President of Finance, Mr. Ocaranza was instrumental in the restructuring process of distressed assets and served as interim CFO on several portfolio companies. Proposing strategic actions and being the sole responsible for the production of financial models, forecasts and budgeting processes of companies in industries such as Aerospace, Maritime, New Media, Renewable Energy, Food processing, Gaming, to name a few. 

Mr. Ocaranza also served as the Assistant Portfolio Manager of the TCA Opportunities Fund I.  A financial vehicle launched in 2016 seeking to invest in small and mid cap companies with exceptional growth potential through redeemable preferred convertible stocks (RPCS). In this roll, Mr. Ocaranza was instrumental in the definition of the instrument (RPCS), investment process and criteria. He was also the sole responsible for analyzing the prospective investments creating ad hoc valuation models and presentations.

Prior to TCA, Mr. Ocaranza worked in several capacities for Marfrig Global Foods (Sao Paulo, Brazil), one of the world’s largest food processing companies, performing investment banking and corporate finance roles in departments such as M&A & Strategy, Treasury and Controllership being directly involved in top management discussions over multiple operations in Latam, UK, the US and Asia.

Mr. Ocaranza began his career in the private banking and wealth management industry working for institutions such as UBS, Deutsche Bank and AIG Private Bank in Buenos Aires, ArgentinaMr. Ocaranza graduated from St. Andrews University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Being fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French he also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
